adidas sportswear Ipswich Town reveal red away kit for 2017

The last time Town played in a red away shirt was in 2013/14 as the team finished ninth in what was Mick McCarthy’s first full season in charge. The Blues boss had made a special request for that colour back then.

Since then, Ipswich have had away strips of orange, the Barcelona esque maroon and navy stripes and, most recently, all white.

The kit is once again manufactured by adidas, for the fourth year running, and once again features the name of owner Marcus Evans as sponsor, for the ninth year running.

Town have already launched their new home kit for next season, with white shorts returning to complement the traditional blue shirt and socks.

Grant Ward models Ipswich Town’s new away kit for the 2017/18 season.

Skipper Luke Chambers, fellow defender Tommy Smith and Grant Ward were chosen as the models for the new away kit. Town’s keeper will be wearing all black whenever a change of kit is required from the new bright cyan coloured first choice strip.

Having signed a four year kit deal with adidas the kit manufacturer when the 1978 FA Cup and 1981 UEFA Cup was won the club has also gone down a nostalgia route with their choice of colour for the new away strip.

Town wore an away kit in their promotion seasons of 1991/92, under John Lyall, and 1999/00, under George Burley. Orange was also the colour worn on their travels in the 2004/05 campaign which saw Joe Royle’s side defeated in the play offs following a third place finish.

Orange is also a nod to the various Dutchmen who have graced the Portman Road pitch over the years, Frans Thijssen and Arnold Muhren a big part of the halcyon days of the ’70s and ’80s, with Martijn Reuser and Fabian Wilnis involved in the club’s last promotion campaign.

Ipswich Town’s Marcus Stewart scores against Bolton in the play off first leg in May 2000

The away kit will be available to purchase on July 1/2, with the home kit not available until 10 days later. The new shirts will cost 44.99 for adult sizes and 34.99 for youth sizes.

See tomorrow’s EADT for more pictures, as well as a full match preview of Watford v Ipswich Town. A poster will be available in Monday’s official matchday programme ahead of Ipswich’s home game against Bournemouth.

The agreement sees Town whose kit is currently produced by Mitre working with adidas for the first time in 25 years, with the famous three stripes emblazoned on a Blues shirt during a glorious 12 year period which included the 1978 FA Cup and 1981 UEFA Cup triumphs.

“We are delighted to be working again with adidas, one of the biggest names in sport,” said Town’s joint managing director, Ian Milne.

“They have a proven track record in producing quality sportswear and, having spoken to Mick McCarthy and the players, I know how much they are looking forward to seeing next season’s new kit.”

Fellow Town MD, Jonathan Symonds, added: “Seeing our players wearing the three stripes again will no doubt rekindle memories of some great times in the past at Ipswich Town. Let’s hope there will be some great times ahead as well. That is what we are all striving for.”

Town’s director of retail operations, Lee Hyde, said: “We have been working on the new kits for the 2014/15 season with adidas for some time. I know that the fans will love what we have arriving very soon. The product quality is of the very highest standard. It is fantastic news to have adidas on board for the next four seasons. “We’ll be confirming the pre order and launch dates soon for both replica kits and the new training wear package.”

Adidas’ Steve Holland said: “We are delighted to agree this partnership with Ipswich Town Football Club. They have a rich heritage with the adidas brand and, having been part of iconic moments in the club’s past history, we are looking forward to more successes in the coming four seasons.”

DANVILLE, Iowa (KWQC) A woman was charged with animal neglect after deputies found the remains of multiple animals in a home she use to own.

Records show that sheriff’s deputies were called to 203 E. Michigan on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in reference to an animal call. When they got there, they learned the home was recently seized from the owner due to a tax lien against the house. The new owner gave the deputies permission to go inside. When they did, they found the remains of three cats and a dog. The deputies said the house was sealed up with no way for the animals to get in or out of the upstairs.

Investigators contacted the previous owner, 53 year old Lisa Kay Morrison and asked about the animals. According tthe deputies, she told them the dog died and she buried it in the back yard and that she gave the cats away. When they told her they had been through the house and had found the remains, they say she changed her story and said the dog died sometime in April or May 2014 and the ground was frozen and to hard to dig a grave. She also said the cats died after the dog, sometime in August 2014.

Two Eastern Iowa fires that killed a combined nine people, including four children, within five days made 2017 the deadliest year in more than a decade for fire deaths in Iowa.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office reported 38 confirmed fire deaths as of Wednesday, with another 13 expected to go on the list, said Ron Humphrey, special agent in charge of the Office’s Arson and Explosives Bureau.

Investigators on Thursday released the names of four family members who died in an early Christmas Day house fire in Blue Grass, a small bedroom community a few miles west of Davenport.

The victims are Larry Loose Sr., 71, Rose Loose, 71, and their sons Steven Loose, 36, and Michael Loose, 35. Michael Loose was pulled from the blaze, but was later pronounced dead at an area hospital, according to officials. Christmas Day, remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.

“There’s a whole lot as a community we have to take in,” said Blue Grass Mayor Tim Brandenburg. “It’s bad enough to lose one family member, but here there were four. And to have it happen on Christmas Day.”

Blue Grass Police Sgt. Garrett Jahns said officials are waiting for the medical examiner to confirm the causes of death for the four family members killed by the blaze reported shortly after midnight Dec. 25. One of the occupants was able to flee the burning house and was transported to the hospital, but later died, police reported. The other three family members died inside.

The death toll from a Dec. 21 fire in Davenport went up to five earlier this week when two children transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics after the blaze died from their injuries, officials said.

“They are gone,” said the children’s great grandmother, Sue Wilson,
adidas star wars shoes Iowa fire deaths highest in more than a decade with photos
78, of Davenport, in a phone interview. “They are all with their mommy.”

Kelsey Clain, 23, and two of her children, Jayden Smead, 5, and Carson Smead, 2, were killed when their mobile home caught fire late Dec. 21. Skylar Smead, 4, and Isabella Smead, 9 months, were taken to the UI hospital with critical injuries. Isabella was taken off life support on Sunday and Skylar on Tuesday, Wilson said.

“There were no working smoke detectors present to allow for early notification of the residents,” Morris said.

The mobile home was owner occupied and therefore did not fall under the Fire Department’s inspection of rental properties, he said.

“There’s no way for us to enforce use of smoke detectors other than public service announcements like this one,” he said.

In addition to 2017 setting a record in recent years for Iowa fire fatalities, its been nearly four years since five or more people died in one fire in the state. The last time that happened, according to State Fire Marshal records, was Jan. 24, 2014, when three adults and two children were killed in a house fire in Arlington.

Four people died in a May 25 apartment fire in Des Moines. A 16 year old girl and a bus driver died in a school bus fire Dec. 12 near Oakland in western Iowa.

Memorials have been established for both Eastern Iowa families affected by the recent fire deaths. Clain’s family has a GoFundMe page to raise money for funeral expenses and hospital bills for Isabella and Skylar, the site says.

Brandenburg said an account has been set up at the Blue Grass Savings Bank for the family that died in the Dec. 25 Blue Grass fire. The bank’s phone number is 563 381 1732.

The Iowa Barnstormers of the Amateur Athletic Union announced late Thursday on Twitter that 42 year old Greg Stephen was no longer with the traveling organization, where several prominent players have been on the roster since its founding in 2005.

“We are all shocked and saddened by this news,” the program said in a statement Friday, urging current and former players “who experienced anything” to make official police reports.

Investigators executed search warrants Thursday at Stephen’s homes in Monticello and Delhi in northeast Iowa, the Iowa Department of Public Safety said. The searches came after agents obtained a device containing videos of “young, non adult disrobed male individuals” who didn’t appear to know they were being recorded, the department said, urging anyone with relevant information or parents with questions to call.

Investigators were looking for evidence of “unlawful manufacturing of child pornography and invasion of privacy,” as well as evidence of “additional” pornographic images and victims who may have been recorded, court documents show.

Stephen hasn’t been charged with any crimes.

Stephen’s father, Roger, who with his son runs a family owned car dealership in Monticello, said the family has been advised not to comment by lawyers. But he dismissed any allegations of wrongdoing, calling them “fake news” and noting his son has run the team successfully for 12 years.

“There’s nothing to hide. It isn’t the way it looks,” Roger Stephen told The Associated Press. “My son has got many,

many scholarship players for all the schools around here. The team has been a great, great deal for the community. He’s a great guy and there’s no reason for all this to happen.”

Sponsored by Adidas, Barnstormers alumni include Iowa’s Jordan Bohannon and Connor McCaffery (son of Coach Fran McCaffery), Wisconsin star Ethan Happ and former Northern Iowa standouts Jeremy Morgan and Wes Washpun. Current players include two heralded Iowa recruits, Patrick McCaffery of Iowa City and Joe Weiskamp of Muscatine.

Court documents show that agents seized several items from Greg Stephen’s home in Monitcello, including laptops, a hard drive, three security cameras and a backpack containing two “covert cameras.”

A sworn affidavit signed by Division of Criminal Investigation special agent Ryan Kedley says the investigation started Sunday, when Monticello Police Chief Britt Smith received information from a source saying he had evidence of a criminal act.

The source told Smith that he was at Stephen’s home on Feb. 15 performing construction services when he came across what appeared to be a plug in electronic device with video recording capabilities in a bathroom, the affidavit says.

The source told Smith he was concerned about the nature of the device and had prior concerns “involving photographic images possessed by Stephen of young males.” The source took the device and turned it over to police after finding video files of young males showering, the affidavit says.

Agents inspected the device Wednesday and found more than 100 video clips, including three folders labeled with names that were redacted in the affidavit. Two of those folders included clips of “young, non adult male individuals disrobing to the point of nudity with genitalia exposed to the camera,” Kedley wrote.

He added that the clips appeared to have been recorded in a hotel bathroom without their knowledge, and that additional footage in the device included footage of an adult male who appeared to be Stephen.

The family of a British Columbia woman who has dementia say staff at a care home removed her cat and replaced it with a robotic stuffed animal.

Dawn Douglas has been living at the Sunridge Place care home in Duncan for nearly two years and her family says they been working to reunite their mother with Snoop.

Bill Court says he was told Snoop could move in with his mother if they supplied appropriate documentation from the family doctor and a veterinarian, and also agreed to be responsible for the cat hygiene and vet bills.

Lisa Douglas says negotiations took some time to reunite her mother with Snoop.

took a year and a half to jump through all the loops and hoops and permissions, she said.

Within a day of the reunion, Court alleges staff at the care home told his mother they were taking Snoop for a bath, then replaced her with a robotic stuffed toy, leaving his 66 year old mother distraught.

A spokeswoman for Park Place Seniors Living,

which operates the home, said a staff member had a severe allergic reaction and the cat had to be removed.

we ended up having to do was rehome the pet with a staff member who is lovely and real animal lover until we could find a resolution and work with the family, said Lynda Foley, vice president of quality assurance.

Foley said she could not comment on allegations that Douglas was told the cat was being removed to have a bath, but she said Park Place does use robotic animals for some residents.

“Currently at Sunridge, we have a staff member whose health is at risk because of severe cat allergies. As an interim solution arrangements were made for the cat to be re homed while we work with the family to find a solution including the introduction of a simulated therapy cat.” Park Place Seniors Living statement

She said live in pets are not permitted at any Park Place facility and she had not seen documents the family believe show permission for the cat permanent stay at Sunridge Place.
